Nine months after the beloved Danforth tiki bar The Shore Leave was evicted by it’s landlord, a new storefront has taken it’s place.

The cozy and kitschy space that one slung pineapple filled cocktails now is the home of Living Energy Spirits, run by Toronto psychic David John Sinclair.

David’s mother was a clairvoyant and medium in Scotland and part of the St Clair (Sinclair) family tree that were recognized as clairvoyants, and mediums with the Knights Templars / Freemasons.

Over the last 50 years, David has been reading for thousands of individuals and has written many testimonials on his accuracy. He’s an accomplished psychic and ahs appeared on many TV and radio shows and newspapers across the globe.

When he isn’t being interviewed or helping the RCMP solve a 7 year old crime (true story), David can be found doing readings, paintings and making crystal healing jewelry at Living Energy Spirits, on Danforth near Coxwell.

The shop opened at 1775 Danforth Ave, in July selling sage, books, tarot decks and more.

It also offers palm readings, past life analysis and other clairvoyant services which might help us figure out what curses we may have picked up in 2020.

The Shore Leave first closed temporarily in March, and after a landlord dispute permanently shuttered. The punch bowls with dolphin shaped bananas will always be missed and don’t know if I’ll be getting my palms touched by strangers any time soon.

To date, the owners haven’t hinted at any new location re-opening, and with the pandemic still in full swing as of December 15th, 2020 – who knows when we’ll be able to share gargantuan drinks together. Maybe David’s crystal ball knows.
